Be Unique & Follow Your Passion – Meet Mr. Reynolds of Hussie Models

This week we are sharing an exclusive blog Q&A about the success of one man’s journey in the Adult Entertainment industry. Riley Reynolds is the founder and CEO of Hussie Models, a talent agency that both recruits and creates content. As a writer who interviews passionate business people of all backgrounds, I very much enjoyed this specific Q&A, due to the fact that Riley is an original and stands for something. As the saying goes, be yourself because everyone else is taken.  As you will read in our interview, what you do is your business and no one has to walk in your shoes. When someone doesn’t agree with what you do, you need to remember that they are not you and do not pay your bills. Whatever your passion is, or however you go about making money, go all in and give it your best efforts. You can be successful if you apply yourself.

How did you initially migrate towards the adult entertainment industry?
At that point in my life my girlfriend had broken up with me and I got involved in the industry as talent.
I decided that I wanted to become an agent and really grow a brand and from there I created Hussie Models.
That is my baby.

What are some things about the adult industry that have benefitted people?
I think the industry benefits those who work in it by giving models the freedom of decision – the ability to make their own hours, work when they want and create the content that they want to create. I think that as a society we are becoming more sexually open and personally think that is beneficial.

How is the adult entertainment industry changing?
I believe paysites are slowly becoming less and less popular but are learning how to retain viewer loyalty through things like producing better quality content and contracting talent that their viewers follow.
There is a lot more freedom for models to have multiple streams of income- in times where the bookings are not consistent, they have options to sell clips, sell talk-time etc.
Personally, the changes that have happened to me are based on my growing network.
I’ve made partnerships which allow for more growth and the ability to execute ideas and bring them to life.

What are the most amount of hours you have worked in a week?
My work is constant.
Because most of my role is coordinating and communicating I need to be available 24/7.

How have you balanced work, life, and working out?
In the beginning, I did not.
I did recruiting, bookings, driving, housing, accounting and social media for Hussie Models.
Over the last year I’ve learned to delegate and bring some balance into my life.

I have multiple employees that allow me to do the things I love more, like wakeboarding and spending time with my dogs.

What are some things about the industry you wish people would know?
The biggest misconception from an outside perspective is that the porn industry is a last resort.
It’s not. Most people in the industry are here because this is what they wanted to do and most people are happy doing sex work.

I wish people knew that the media, specifically porn gossip sites, have portrayed me to be someone I am not.

I’ve made mistakes- my life and my role in this industry is a constant learning experience but I’ve never done anything that I feel justifies the way that they have chosen to portray me.
I truly care about the models that I work for – I care about their mental health, their relationships with their family and I feel that not every agent offers that.

https://lovewilddesign.com/products/boobs-persist-aclu

As a businessman, do you have a ‘miracle morning’ routine?
No.
I wake up and I walk my dogs.
Then I get started.
What is one piece of advice you want to leave people with that relates to pursuing your passion, regardless of what others think?
Do what makes you happy.
No one else is paying your bills and their opinions do not matter.

For my readers out there, know that you can achieve great success at anything you set your mind to, it does not matter who you are, what industry you are in, when you begin, or where you are in your life. If it is success you want, then stay true to yourself. Don’t be afraid to step out. To learn more about Riley and Hussie Models, check out his site here.

How To Keep Up With Your Work Over The Holidays – Getting Work Done When It’s The Hardest Thing To Do

During the holiday season, it can be difficult to manage the year end rush while balancing family and business holiday parties. This is the time when you need to focus the most. Year end is when people reassess their goals they made at the beginning of the year, and make a push to meet those goals during the end of the year.

As a business owner, being on top of your game means having a plan, answering emails, and being available to serve your customers. Be ready to take on more clients as well, because there are people out there who need your services. The more prepared you are to take on the work, handle the current workload, and also be present for family and friends, the better your year-end will be.

How Do You Achieve It All

The answer is by careful planning. When you plan your day, week, and month, you budget your time and can allocate what you spend your time on the important matters that need your full attention. This means planning to exercise, planning for decent sleep, planning for family and friends, and making sure you always budget time for your business operations and sales processes into your schedule. I firmly believe that those who plan well are those who achieve great things.

Start Here

The first place to start is with you. Dive deep. Ask yourself why you are going after certain goals and objectives. If it is for you, you will stick with it. If you are going after certain goals to make someone else appeased, you will never stick with it. Building your foundation of why you are going after your goals is the first step towards effectively planning. Yes we all want more time with our family and quality friends, a sexy body and amazing health, and a thriving business that would make class reunion a breeze, but you need to plan out the details. Success in each of these categories is extremely different for each person, this is because we are all unique, have different desires and wants, and also needs.

Where Do I Go From Here?

Grab a special planner that allows you to write in what you will do each hour. Plan each and every hour of the day, and can get right down to the minute. It may be daunting, but it is your life and you’ve got to be the change you want to see, it helps to build discipline. To prevent overload, start with a small list of tasks each day, and build from there. For example, if you want to do something to improve your health, relationships, and business, you can start a daily list that looks like this:

  1. Work Out At Gym for 1 Hour in Cycling Class
  2. Spend time with best friend Jessie downtown
  3. Complete 4 big projects today for clients and send 5 follow-up emails

KISS

Keep it simple silly (kiss). The further down the rabbit hole you travel, the more you will find clarity on what you need to do, who you need to spend your time with, and the clients you want to serve. Make it happen. Your values will align with what you think, say, and do in your health, relationships, and business categories. Keep it really simple, and start small. Once you get good at completing small tasks, allow yourself to take on more. You will eventually get to where you can do more, be more, and become more.

You Are Worth It

No one said keeping on the straight and narrow would be easy, but I can promise you that you are worth it to improve and save your life. Make your life better, and keep going no matter how small of a step you take. There will be distractions, failures, and setbacks. Take inventory, heal yourself, and get back on the path. It’s like that one quote that goes something like this…

“What is more important than achieving your goals is the person
you become while you achieve them.”
—Unknown

As you go about your holiday season to wrap up the year-end, and get ready for big improvements in 2018, remember to become a person of value and to serve those around you. Be ready to serve your clients, help new business develop, and be present for your loved ones.

Building A Company? Here Are 11 Things I Have Learned from Serial-Prenuer Men in Business That Can Help You Be A Badass in Business

Photo Via https: www.thedailybeast.com

The American dream is alive and well, and thanks to many business professionals who are serious about their work, we have a guideline on how we can achieve the American dream ourselves. About 2 years ago I started my career in freelance writing. Nothing I have ever done, not even college or my college cycling races, has been as hard, cold, and fast paced as jumping into the world of starting a business. So why on earth would someone get into a profession where you face fast talkers & movers, cold rejections, and long nights of pounding away at your keyboard? Because this is the pathway to becoming one of the elites in America, one of the people lucky enough to have created a seat for themselves in the wealthy class. You have to get into a position of ownership in a company or be in a selling position to get ahead. You will never get ahead in a technical role. Period. That is just you working for someone else, making their dreams happen. You can have your cake and eat it too, so get out there and go get your worth.

Part of my freelancing is sales, operations, and marketing. The nights are long, and every minute of every day requires special attention. I have distanced myself from those who do not support me, and encircled myself with supportive people who have become my team. I know many strong women who have been leaders and mentors to me in life, but the truth should be told that many of the skills I have learned about building a business has come from the men I work with and the men who mentor me. I strongly support women in business, but admit I am way too emotional at times.

The men in my life have influenced me to use my time effectively, be logical in my operations, and to be fearless when closing a sale and asking for business. Through all of this knowledge I have acquired, I have learned to build my own company here I have began to become somewhat of an expert in digital marketing. In layman’s terms, I get clients pages to rank higher than competition, by strategic marketing on social media and SEO content writing that makes their Alexa ranking increase.

None of this would be possible without the guidance of some of my closest mentors and business partners. How can I create results for a client if I do not first have the approval to work with them? It is all about carefully negotiating what you can do, and then proving it. A lot of skills I have learned from men in business have helped me to become the person I am today, and for that I am thankful. Here are 11 things you can learn from men in business:

Photo Via: lovetoknow.com
  1. Cut the fluff.
You can beat around the bush and not get anywhere, or you can get straight to the point. Make mini-closes and see if a client is qualified first.

  2. Don’t waste time
When you work, work furiously to get your projects across the table and out to the client in a timely and quality manner.

  3. Be confident
Professionals are confident about their services, especially men who are in sales. When you are confident in yours services, your clients will be too.

  4. Do what you say you are going to do.
Seriously, when I make a promise, I give the clients exactly what they want and keep my word.

  5. Provide more in value than what you receive in money
Always go above and beyond. You want to wow your clients.

  6. Remember the time, quality, and price matrix
You can only have two and one will be compromised. Make sure you are clear to your clients about this  on each project.

  7. Don’t waste your time.
If someone is beating around the bush, ask closing questions. If they don’t want what you’ve got, they do dirty business, or operate on a different level that you are not yet on, or have moved up from, then move on. Your time matters, and it’s important to make the most of it every day

  8. Don’t waste other people’s time.
People have only so much time to allocate to you, so when you catch their attention make sure you are effective and efficient in talking to them. Do not waste their time, and make sure you bring something of value to them.

  9. Leave emotions out of the mix.
Business can be personal, but you cannot ever take it personally. Be professional.

  10. Always be genuinely interested in other people.
This should actually be the first principal for anyone in business. Before you can ever do business with another person, you have to get to know them. You have to learn about them, and to see if what you have is something they actually need. You may become an alliance, and partner with them for business development. If you do not have the conversation of getting to know him or her, you have already started off on the wrong foot. Get to know the person.

  11. Learn the art of follow up, and get good at it.
People are not going to call you, you need to call people. Leave the ball in the other person’s court, and make sure you follow up using a method that works best for you. Pace with the client, and adapt your follow up accordingly. No method fits all clients, so be open, be aware, and be adaptable.

Of course I have learned a lot from women in business, but these are just some of the things that the influential men in my life have taught me. If we leave men out of the mix we are missing out on learning from ½ of our society’s knowledge. The same if we are only women-centric. Learn from men and women, and allow them to teach and support you along your journey. Rock what you got, and go after your goals, make sure you learn as much as you can from others while believing in yourself. You can do it!

Cheers,

Danielle

In Life You Don’t Get What You Deserve, You Get What You Negotiate

I recently read a book on making big business deals by Lewis Schiff. It talks about the top business players, the ones that rose up from poverty or the middle class, and now make over $1,000,000 a year. They are at the top for a reason, and that’s because they more quick-witted, emotionally intelligent, and smart. Most importantly, they follow their gut. That’s what makes them the deal makers and deal breakers.

Photo Via: www.businessinsider.com, handshake, man and woman shaking hands, deal, business deal.
Photo Via: www.businessinsider.com, handshake, man and woman shaking hands, deal, business deal.

If you have ever observed people that keep getting the raw end of the deal, it’s because they didn’t ask for more. Shockingly, I read that the majority of people who are offered a starting salary don’t realize that if they ask for more, they would likely get it. Obviously, a person hiring you as a freelancer or contractor has selectively chosen you, and are willing to pay for – you! The people who make the money decisions in companies and business majority of the time leave room for a higher negotiation in pay.

Even more shocking, is that women don’t ask as much as men. That is why there is a ‘gap’ today. Don’t get me wrong, sexism still exists but is extremely minor today in comparison to the women in the earlier 19th and 20th centuries. Ladies, ask for more – you’re worth it. Settle for more.

In Business Brilliant, a survey was conducted to compare how multimillionaires making over $1,000,000+ per year negotiate in comparison with people who make less than $1,000,000 per year. The survey found that millionaires expect the other party to exploit them, and it is up to them to find spots in the initial offer and find loopholes to leverage a better offer, not only for the negotiator to benefit but for the company they run to benefit. The compared counterpart respondents just want to be ‘fair’.

It’s a dog eat dog world out there, and you’ve got to have your wits about you or people will take advantage of you in the business world. Do your absolute best to learn, earn, and repeat. This is especially true if you’re lucky enough to live in America, a country where people move here to manifest their own ‘American Dream’ because there is no China Dream, European Dream, or African Dream.

“Coffee is forge closers.” – Glen Gary Glen Ross

The second part of deal-making is your rib cage. No, not talking about the one in your body, but those around you who work symbiotically with you. Your team. If a deal goes south, and many will, then you’ve got to have you’re A-Team with you to bounce you back up.

Another study found that multimillionaires actually have an extremely large network of people they know, referring to the Strength of Weak Ties. In the upper echelons of personal business, they have a tighter inner circle of people they collaborate with to make smart decisions in business, this is in comparison with less savvy business people who talk to everyone about their plans. If you’ve got ideas worth gold, tell your inner circle, don’t tell your neighbor down the street.

Getting what you want is all about asking for it. If you show up, do work that no one can replace, and make your way up the Klout Score, then you’re well on your way. Doing work you’re proud of builds your confidence, and that’s why a lot of really famous and wealthy people are so magnetic. When they step up to make a deal, they’ve got a lot running under their belt, not to mention backdoors. You may want to roll up your sleeves and get to work because if you’ve got the passion you’ll enjoy these moments of tension. You learn a lot about people when they are under pressure.

When negotiating, be willing to walk away. The old adage here goes, ‘The one who loves the least, controls the most.’ Be interested in making a good deal, but never show your more than halfway interested. If the person across from the table really wants to work with you and make a deal, they will show it.

Photo Via: /www.quotesvalley.com, the-one-who-loves-the-least-controls-the-relationship
Photo Via: /www.quotesvalley.com, the-one-who-loves-the-least-controls-the-relationship

If you’re not satisfied with your lot, then the only person responsible is the one looking you back in the mirror. Settle for more. Do work that makes you confident, so when you negotiate you know you’ve got the work to back it up. If you ask for more, you can initially get more. The future belongs to those who ask – and if you get a no, which you will encounter a lot in business, then you increase your odds. Success in negotiation is a numbers game, like many other things. Some things work out, and some things don’t but hey – don’t take it personally, it’s just business 😉

How Working 70+ Hours Can Actually Save You

Do you feel stuck? Not sure where to go? Behind on your notes? The truth is, you’re not alone. The other side of the truth is that you have absolutely all the power to pull yourself out of any hole you’ve dug yourself into.

They say that inspiration strikes us in the most opportune, or in-opportune, moments. Depending on how you look at it, you may have an event in your life that makes you feel like all the doors are closed. But do you remember that old adage? As one door closes, another door opens.

You may have to get out of your comfort zone and begin to push and expand your current limitations. People are really powerful, but our minds can trick us into being lazy and complacent. Get into motion. In order to get ‘un-stuck’ you will need to take massive action. Some people go all in and may get burned out, so here is a pro-tip to help you as you become a person in motion:

  1. Create a list of all your issues on one side of paper, and on the other side make a list of solutions.
  2. Take one task at a time. Don’t even look at your other list items.
  3. Get into the habit of marking off tasks. You’ll feel more accomplished, and have the confidence to move onto the next task.
  4. Celebrate wins. Make sure you do something nice for yourself to reward your hard efforts. You are after all your own boss.
  5. Repeat.

A key factor to keep in mind is that you will need to have a lot of passion. The feeling of being stuck needs to be more painful than the feeling of making changes for the better. Get un-stuck!

When you begin, you need to know that making changes will not be easy, but they will ultimately be worth it. Making positive changes to get in motion will cost you time. Here’s how we get 70 hours, but of course if you’re feeling more ambitions, go settle for more.

deannewolfgram.com
woman with her arms wide open, woman looking into the sunset, woman at peace with herself.

Money is the necessity that makes FREEDOM possible for all people, so how do you get it? You make ways for money to flow to you. In one of my previous articles, I talk about methods on how to make money online by freelancing. When you’ve got a method in mind to allow money to flow to you, the real work begins. To make what you need to happen, you will need to put in the hours to get your processes up and running. In the book, Business Brilliant, an estimated majority of millionaires who make $1 million to $30 million work over 70 hours per week.

By getting to work, and getting in motion, you will start to produce more money. Money to pay off debt, money to pay for your child’s college, money to buy a home, and money to wine and dine with your best friends.

Growing your money will take a lot more effort, simply because money is a dame that needs to be woo’ed. More particular, you need to become really good at pleasing people. You can start in your personal life by extending extra effort to be of more value to your friends, neighbors, and peers. When you start to master that level, you can start to please people in business. Here I am referencing the Go-Giver, a must read book for anyone in business. The book references that those who give the most receive the most, especially in unexpected ways. Learn to be the best at serving people, and at pleasing them. You will get a lot further in life.

Giving requires a lot of footwork, which keeps you in motion and helps you build methods for money to flow to you. Being in motion will also require you to put in a lot of hours. Eventually, word will get out that you work your butt off, and people will want to work with you. Everyone needs a hustler. When you are a person of value, you won’t be discarded so easily.

Take the steps today to become a person in motion. Don’t be afraid to put in the hours, should they be 70+, it is your life, and every moment should be worth it to you to make it better. Get unstuck, develop a pathway for money to flow to you, and work passionately. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. Get ready to be the solution to your problems – only YOU can save yourself!

Cheers,

Danielle
