Be Unique & Follow Your Passion – Meet Mr. Reynolds of Hussie Models

Be Unique & Follow Your Passion – Meet Mr. Reynolds of Hussie Models

This week we are sharing an exclusive blog Q&A about the success of one man’s journey in the Adult Entertainment industry. Riley Reynolds is the founder and CEO of Hussie Models, a talent agency that both recruits and creates content. As a writer who interviews passionate business people of all backgrounds, I very much enjoyed this specific Q&A, due to the fact that Riley is an original and stands for something. As the saying goes, be yourself because everyone else is taken.  As you will read in our interview, what you do is your business and no one has to walk in your shoes. When someone doesn’t agree with what you do, you need to remember that they are not you and do not pay your bills. Whatever your passion is, or however you go about making money, go all in and give it your best efforts. You can be successful if you apply yourself.

How did you initially migrate towards the adult entertainment industry?
At that point in my life my girlfriend had broken up with me and I got involved in the industry as talent.
I decided that I wanted to become an agent and really grow a brand and from there I created Hussie Models.
That is my baby.

What are some things about the adult industry that have benefitted people?
I think the industry benefits those who work in it by giving models the freedom of decision – the ability to make their own hours, work when they want and create the content that they want to create. I think that as a society we are becoming more sexually open and personally think that is beneficial.

How is the adult entertainment industry changing?
I believe paysites are slowly becoming less and less popular but are learning how to retain viewer loyalty through things like producing better quality content and contracting talent that their viewers follow.
There is a lot more freedom for models to have multiple streams of income- in times where the bookings are not consistent, they have options to sell clips, sell talk-time etc.
Personally, the changes that have happened to me are based on my growing network.
I’ve made partnerships which allow for more growth and the ability to execute ideas and bring them to life.

What are the most amount of hours you have worked in a week?
My work is constant.
Because most of my role is coordinating and communicating I need to be available 24/7.

How have you balanced work, life, and working out?
In the beginning, I did not.
I did recruiting, bookings, driving, housing, accounting and social media for Hussie Models.
Over the last year I’ve learned to delegate and bring some balance into my life.

I have multiple employees that allow me to do the things I love more, like wakeboarding and spending time with my dogs.

What are some things about the industry you wish people would know?
The biggest misconception from an outside perspective is that the porn industry is a last resort.
It’s not. Most people in the industry are here because this is what they wanted to do and most people are happy doing sex work.

I wish people knew that the media, specifically porn gossip sites, have portrayed me to be someone I am not.

I’ve made mistakes- my life and my role in this industry is a constant learning experience but I’ve never done anything that I feel justifies the way that they have chosen to portray me.
I truly care about the models that I work for – I care about their mental health, their relationships with their family and I feel that not every agent offers that.

https://lovewilddesign.com/products/boobs-persist-aclu

As a businessman, do you have a ‘miracle morning’ routine?
No.
I wake up and I walk my dogs.
Then I get started.
What is one piece of advice you want to leave people with that relates to pursuing your passion, regardless of what others think?
Do what makes you happy.
No one else is paying your bills and their opinions do not matter.

For my readers out there, know that you can achieve great success at anything you set your mind to, it does not matter who you are, what industry you are in, when you begin, or where you are in your life. How Entering A Swimsuit Competition Got Me Out Of My Comfort Zone

How Entering A Swimsuit Competition Got Me Out Of My Comfort Zone

Have you ever felt you are doing the same thing, over and over again? You’re not along, some people get into a routine and fall into a lull. Just like relationships that need to spice it up, you should do something at least once a month out of the ordinary. I recently joined the 1099 club, and have never been more proud. I love what I do, but had to mix it up and do something fun and out of the ordinary. Forbes contributor, Dan Schawbel, posted an article that in order to be successful you must make time for fun. You can read more about it here.

From a small town in Colorado, where conservatism is key, doing something like a swimsuit contest would be highly frowned upon. For whatever reason, I decided to break the common path, and do something out of the ordinary. In the latter part of my 20’s, I competed in a swimsuit contest and had a BLAST! Strutting around in questionable shoes and tiny pieces of clothing gave me a rush. From the event, I have decided to do more competitions and to start lifting with a routine at the gym.

I firmly believe that your body is a temple, no doubt. So if you are moree a proud of your body, don’t be shy to show what you’ve got. If you take good care of your body, you will live a long and healthy life, ceteris paribus. Competitions like these are to showcase the feminine side of our society. America is already walking the line when it comes to health, so I would encourage people to sign up with a club or join a completion in order to have something to look forward to when you workout, meal prep or participate in health challenges.

Inspired by the Comfort Zone Crusher Challenge, I challenge all my readers to do something out of the ordinary. It doesn’t have to be a swimsuit competition, but it should be something you normally don’t do that gives you a rush, excites you, and builds your confidence. If it deals with fitness and health competitions, all the better! As long as you don’t hurt anyone, then go for it. You’d be surprised at how good you’ll feel after trying something out of the ordinary. Here is a quick list you can start from, based on Daniel Branche’s top 10:

1. Travel to places you have always dreamed of going as well as famous places and sites all across the world like the Grand Canyon, Great Wall of China, and national parks in Africa for safari among others to get new experiences.
2. Engage in extreme sports like mountaineering, skydiving, rock climbing, white water rafting and bungee jumping among others for the thrill and adventure.
3. Find a place with relatively free of unnatural light and marvel at the beauty of the night sky all night long especially the stars.
4. Join a gym and enroll for a program that will help you keep fit and remain healthy.
5. Enroll for a yoga class to improve your mental as well as physical strength and help you to be more relaxed and calm.
6. Find an enriching and beautiful place to meditate occasionally and think about your life to help you set goals that can help you improve your life and relations with others.
7. Get a full body massage and treatment in a spa to remove all the tension from your body and for relaxation.
8. Have sexual intimacy with someone you truly care about regularly to help you improve emotionally, mentally and physically.
9. Renovate your house by occasionally painting different fun and bright colors and install more windows to let in more sunlight ensuring maximum lighting.
10. Visit close family and friends all around the world and spend some time together to help create strong bonds and interactions.

Here’s a quick photo of the completion. And as you can see I was definitely having fun! Try something new today, and bring some excitement to your life. You are worth it to enjoy the life you live.

Stay focused on your goals <3

How Freelancers Can Actually Get Work Done: Waterfall vs. Agile Workflow

How To Actually Get Work Done: Waterfall vs. Agile Workflow

Recent Life Hacks: I finally stumbled upon a method, other than my sticky notes, that will help with project management. I work with and talk to, a lot of freelancers, and it has come to my attention that a lot of us use different project management systems to manage our workload. Personally, I have used the square method, and it works most of the time. However, I stumbled upon two even better methods to help people who work in demanding jobs or run a freelance business and are managing client workflow on the ‘feast-side‘ of the coin. Using one of the methods below can be helpful, and if you’re looking to start creating right away, Trello.com provides an online drag and drop creator’s studio to make your workflow.

The two methods are Waterfall and Agile project management systems. I would recommend researching the models in more depth on your own, but here are the quick meeting minutes for those of us who are on a tight schedule to get projects pushed through.

The Waterfall Method

Freelance career website, Upwork.com, describes the late 80’s/90’s project management system as the “traditional approach” to developing a product from idea to retail-ready.  In this method, the project is broken up into steps that are to be completed in a sequence. In this workflow, each stage must be completed before starting the next. For those of us who are visual, the steps are aligned to look like a waterfall, where backtracking is not an option. You must ‘go with the flow‘.

Photo Via: code95.com, Waterfall Project Management

The Agile Method

The same freelance website, Upwork.com, also describes the Agile method as one of the newer project management systems. The Agile way is more flexible and less costly than the waterfall method, especially when you need to backtrack and make edits, additions, or omissions. Instead of upfront planning altogether, the Agile method focuses on the ability to build and react to change in times of uncertainty and turbulence. This method is packed with an open backlog that you can continuously add to and is positioned in the model to kept to keep track of features and requirements that the clients want. From the backlog, one part of the project is selected and you work on it until completion. It is a way to select a priority and complete it while touching base with peers and making adjustments in a tight window.  After one is complete, then you select the next priority item from the backlog and repeat the cycle through to completion. You get projects completed, one piece at a time with room for edits and revisions. I believe this model is more flexible and reasonable for all those with heavy workloads and a sharp deadline. The website, Agilealliance.org notes that the agile method places an ’emphasis on teamwork, constant user feedback, continuous improvement, and the ability to adapt to changing requirements.’

Both methods are helpful to move projects from start to finish. Challenge yourself to try one or both on your workload, and see how they compare. Work hard today, so you can play harder tomorrow.

How I’m Getting Into Blogging With A Corporate Job

How I’m Getting Into Blogging With A Corporate Job

Macbook Pro Beside White Cup And Saucer On Table

What you aim to be good at is what you must set your mind to. For me, my journey is a long one with blogging. When I started my blogging journey in 2015, I had no idea what I was doing. I began writing for a blog but didn’t know how to monetize it. Between being stressed out with paying back student loans, and choosing rent over food, I struggled to concentrate and this has always been something on the back burner, up until now. I have a good job that pays well, and I now can concentrate on blogging and how to monetize both my own blog and how to freelance for others to bring in an additional stream of income.

More and more I feel that the education I received was priced at a hyper-inflated ticket, and the ROI was truly a bunch of B.S. I looked back at some of my colleagues from high school and found the friends that I went to school with who were making more money than me did not, in fact, get a 4 year degree. They went and studied trade skills. They earn more money because they have a practical skill that they can put to immediate use. The rise of trade skills and the opportunity with making your money online is on the rise. I feel like people are starting to get fed up with expensive and greedy colleges and are instead working to build their own businesses.

As much as I hate student loan debt and the poor ROI you get in the job market after investing in your education, it really burned when the same school I took out loans for called me for donations to the school. WTF. The job market only wants to pay you entry-level after school. The return you get is terrible. That is why I chose to blog as a vehicle to set myself free of best. This blog is an account of my journey and also for you to show you that you can do it too.

As a numbers person by trade, I have worked in a handful of corporate accounting jobs, only to realize that my creativity has been stiffed. I feel the only way to make good money is to get creative and learn a trade that you can teach yourself. Learning how to run a business is a valuable skill. My advice to those who have been rung through the college system and are barely scraping by is to learn a new trade or refurbish one that you can put to use, and start finding a way to directly serve your customers. Attaining customers is another topic I will write about shortly. Find something that drives you.

As I write to you know, I am still in corporate America. I do enjoy my job, but at the end of the day, I have big student loan debt balances to pay off. I work extra to build my blogging business, and soon hope to aspire to the ‘big dog’s’ in the business world who create highly profitable businesses and are so flush with cash that they PAY THE SALARIES of employees. Soon to come, also, is how to build a weekly schedule to fit in your freelancing business around your 40 hour week. As a positive to working in corporate America, you can really learn a lot of valuable business skills, like social-politics, being orderly, and being micro-managed. You may not like some things about your job right now, but if you look into the silver lining, you can see all the positives about working in corporate America. Learn what you can, where you are, and make the most of it. If you do work hard at your job, you can get paid even more while building your freelance business.

No matter how much debt you have, and how little your current job may pay, know that the relationship will soon be inverted to higher paying jobs and lower debt amounts. Work hard where you are, save money, and put your nose to the grindstone in both your corporate job and your freelance job. The skills and habits you learn from being a hard and smart worker will benefit you, always. Good luck out there, freelancers and corporate American employees. Carpe Diem!

3 Simple Steps on How to Write Content Faster With This Formula – Never Have Writers Block Again

Digital nomads who work in the space of blogs and content duration are always on a constant search for items to write about. The internet is a fantastic place for inspiration, but what is the formula to break ‘writer’s block?’ There are 3 easy steps you can follow to break through, and always have something to write about. A big part of being an excellent writer is having content that people find current, inspirational, and helpful. Learn this pattern, practice it, and build the habit. Never run out of topics to write about again.

Industry News

The news is a great place to draw topics from. Whether you are writing for technology, business ops, or fashion, you can Google search the main topic for your blog and take inventory of what the search engine brings up. Check out the trending stories section at the top, or click over to YouTube and see what was posted within the week. This is how the famous South Park cartoon continues to stay current. Writing about current topics will keep your readers engaged and caught up on current news. You definitely want your audience to be in the know.

Leaders & Moguls

Everyone likes to read about famous people. What peaks your curiosity is what and how they are operating differently. What is it about them that makes them high performance, super fit, and a suave conversationalist? We all like to invest in ourselves and take what works for other people and do the same for ourselves. Writing about leaders and moguls in your industry is a sure way to cross-market your company, and will be a beneficial shout out to someone you place in the spotlight. Don’t know where to start? Pick up the phone and call business owners in your city. Ready, set, go!

Call to Action

Write about something that can benefit a person after they read your article. For instance, what are the top and most effective social media scheduler that you want your audience to know about? If you’ve tested out a technology, or process, go forth and tell people about it. Helping people is a great way to build rapport and strengthen relationships. Your readers will trust you when you write about the benefits of using xyz, and how they can also benefit. Give readers a call to action that they can walk away with, and end up improving their lives after visiting your blog.

Photo Via: www.unsplash.com, women helping each other while climbinga a mountain

Break out of writer’s block, and let your creativity flow. Research the news, business leaders and moguls, and also find a beneficial call to action for your readers. You will never have writer’s block when you have a formula that helps you bust through. Also, remember that practice makes perfect. The more you get into the habit of writing quality articles and scouting for topics, the better a writer you will be. Rome was not built in a day, so remember that becoming a great writer will take persistence and a lot of practice. You can do it, so be persistent. Get ready to write your most creative content, and improve your productitity to boot!

Sincerely,
Danielle

How To Keep Up With Your Work Over The Holidays – Getting Work Done When It’s The Hardest Thing To Do

During the holiday season, it can be difficult to manage the year end rush while balancing family and business holiday parties. This is the time when you need to focus the most. Year end is when people reassess their goals they made at the beginning of the year, and make a push to meet those goals during the end of the year.

As a business owner, being on top of your game means having a plan, answering emails, and being available to serve your customers. Be ready to take on more clients as well, because there are people out there who need your services. The more prepared you are to take on the work, handle the current workload, and also be present for family and friends, the better your year-end will be.

How Do You Achieve It All

The answer is by careful planning. When you plan your day, week, and month, you budget your time and can allocate what you spend your time on the important matters that need your full attention. This means planning to exercise, planning for decent sleep, planning for family and friends, and making sure you always budget time for your business operations and sales processes into your schedule. I firmly believe that those who plan well are those who achieve great things.

Start Here

The first place to start is with you. Dive deep. Ask yourself why you are going after certain goals and objectives. If it is for you, you will stick with it. If you are going after certain goals to make someone else appeased, you will never stick with it. Building your foundation of why you are going after your goals is the first step towards effectively planning. Yes we all want more time with our family and quality friends, a sexy body and amazing health, and a thriving business that would make class reunion a breeze, but you need to plan out the details. Success in each of these categories is extremely different for each person, this is because we are all unique, have different desires and wants, and also needs.

Where Do I Go From Here?

Grab a special planner that allows you to write in what you will do each hour. Plan each and every hour of the day, and can get right down to the minute. It may be daunting, but it is your life and you’ve got to be the change you want to see, it helps to build discipline. To prevent overload, start with a small list of tasks each day, and build from there. For example, if you want to do something to improve your health, relationships, and business, you can start a daily list that looks like this:

  1. Work Out At Gym for 1 Hour in Cycling Class
  2. Spend time with best friend Jessie downtown
  3. Complete 4 big projects today for clients and send 5 follow-up emails

KISS

Keep it simple silly (kiss). The further down the rabbit hole you travel, the more you will find clarity on what you need to do, who you need to spend your time with, and the clients you want to serve. Make it happen. Your values will align with what you think, say, and do in your health, relationships, and business categories. Keep it really simple, and start small. Once you get good at completing small tasks, allow yourself to take on more. You will eventually get to where you can do more, be more, and become more.

You Are Worth It

No one said keeping on the straight and narrow would be easy, but I can promise you that you are worth it to improve and save your life. Make your life better, and keep going no matter how small of a step you take. There will be distractions, failures, and setbacks. Take inventory, heal yourself, and get back on the path. It’s like that one quote that goes something like this…

“What is more important than achieving your goals is the person
you become while you achieve them.”
—Unknown

As you go about your holiday season to wrap up the year-end, and get ready for big improvements in 2018, remember to become a person of value and to serve those around you. Be ready to serve your clients, help new business develop, and be present for your loved ones.

Building A Company? Here Are 11 Things I Have Learned from Serial-Prenuer Men in Business That Can Help You Be A Badass in Business

Photo Via https: www.thedailybeast.com

The American dream is alive and well, and thanks to many business professionals who are serious about their work, we have a guideline on how we can achieve the American dream ourselves. About 2 years ago I started my career in freelance writing. Nothing I have ever done, not even college or my college cycling races, has been as hard, cold, and fast paced as jumping into the world of starting a business. So why on earth would someone get into a profession where you face fast talkers & movers, cold rejections, and long nights of pounding away at your keyboard? Because this is the pathway to becoming one of the elites in America, one of the people lucky enough to have created a seat for themselves in the wealthy class. You have to get into a position of ownership in a company or be in a selling position to get ahead. You will never get ahead in a technical role. Period. That is just you working for someone else, making their dreams happen. You can have your cake and eat it too, so get out there and go get your worth.

Part of my freelancing is sales, operations, and marketing. The nights are long, and every minute of every day requires special attention. I have distanced myself from those who do not support me, and encircled myself with supportive people who have become my team. I know many strong women who have been leaders and mentors to me in life, but the truth should be told that many of the skills I have learned about building a business has come from the men I work with and the men who mentor me. I strongly support women in business, but admit I am way too emotional at times.

The men in my life have influenced me to use my time effectively, be logical in my operations, and to be fearless when closing a sale and asking for business. Through all of this knowledge I have acquired, I have learned to build my own company here I have began to become somewhat of an expert in digital marketing. In layman’s terms, I get clients pages to rank higher than competition, by strategic marketing on social media and SEO content writing that makes their Alexa ranking increase.

None of this would be possible without the guidance of some of my closest mentors and business partners. How can I create results for a client if I do not first have the approval to work with them? It is all about carefully negotiating what you can do, and then proving it. A lot of skills I have learned from men in business have helped me to become the person I am today, and for that I am thankful. Here are 11 things you can learn from men in business:

http://fashion-history.lovetoknow.com/clothing-types-styles/business-suit
Photo Via: lovetoknow.com
  1. Cut the fluff.
You can beat around the bush and not get anywhere, or you can get straight to the point. Make mini-closes and see if a client is qualified first.

  2. Don’t waste time
When you work, work furiously to get your projects across the table and out to the client in a timely and quality manner.

  3. Be confident
Professionals are confident about their services, especially men who are in sales. When you are confident in yours services, your clients will be too.

  4. Do what you say you are going to do.
Seriously, when I make a promise, I give the clients exactly what they want and keep my word.

  5. Provide more in value than what you receive in money
Always go above and beyond. You want to wow your clients.

  6. Remember the time, quality, and price matrix
You can only have two and one will be compromised. Make sure you are clear to your clients about this  on each project.

  7. Don’t waste your time.
If someone is beating around the bush, ask closing questions. If they don’t want what you’ve got, they do dirty business, or operate on a different level that you are not yet on, or have moved up from, then move on. Your time matters, and it’s important to make the most of it every day

  8. Don’t waste other people’s time.
People have only so much time to allocate to you, so when you catch their attention make sure you are effective and efficient in talking to them. Do not waste their time, and make sure you bring something of value to them.

  9. Leave emotions out of the mix.
Business can be personal, but you cannot ever take it personally. Be professional.

  10. Always be genuinely interested in other people.
This should actually be the first principal for anyone in business. Before you can ever do business with another person, you have to get to know them. You have to learn about them, and to see if what you have is something they actually need. You may become an alliance, and partner with them for business development. If you do not have the conversation of getting to know him or her, you have already started off on the wrong foot. Get to know the person.

  11. Learn the art of follow up, and get good at it.
People are not going to call you, you need to call people. Leave the ball in the other person’s court, and make sure you follow up using a method that works best for you. Pace with the client, and adapt your follow up accordingly. No method fits all clients, so be open, be aware, and be adaptable.

https://www.thegentlemansjournal.com/article/5-best-dressed-men-business/
https://www.thegentlemansjournal.com/article/5-best-dressed-men-business/

Of course I have learned a lot from women in business, but these are just some of the things that the influential men in my life have taught me. If we leave men out of the mix we are missing out on learning from ½ of our society’s knowledge. The same if we are only women-centric. Learn from men and women, and allow them to teach and support you along your journey. Rock what you got, and go after your goals, make sure you learn as much as you can from others while believing in yourself. You can do it!

Cheers,

9 Closing Techniques That Work – How To Increase Your Close Rate Today

The business world is fast paced and constantly changing. Customers want the best, and it is up to you to help provide for them if you want to be the best. The true mark of a good salesperson is someone who can find people that need their products or services that will actually enhance a person’s experience, whether in B2B or B2C. Money is a valuable resource, and is held by the customer with great care, so spending can be a cautionary action when you show up to present. When you reach a qualified prospect, helping her or him overcome the emotional hurdle to buy from you can be described as a dance, This is where becoming a closer becomes so important. You must ask for the business, and be confident when you do. Here are the top 15 closing techniques that actually work. Try them today and remember that practice makes perfect. Put that coffee down, and let’s begin!

1. Something for Nothing

This is the magic of marketing. You may commonly hear, ‘But wait, there’s more!’ Toss in something extra for free after the purchase. Online, offer a free eBook, template, widget download on their company website, or give a free notebook or pen with their logo in person (hey, free marketing, right?).

2. Opinions Count

Have the client validate out loud that they can benefit by purchasing your product or service. To do this, ask, Do you feel that eating all organics can improve your health?’ These are logical verifying questions. Get them to yes. If they say no, you can immediately address their concerns. This is a disqualification process.

3. The Assumptive Close

Here you act as if you already have the business. Use future statements like, ‘When would you like the order delivered?’ This close allows the client to focus on how they will benefit when they have the product or service. Make sure you have addressed all concerns before this step, or you might fumble.

4. Sharp Angle Close

When you have an objection, counteract it using ‘this for that’ logic. For example, ‘If we solve your concern,  will you be ready to sign the order today? Make sure you can solve the customer’s problem, and then use this if you are confident you can. Shoot for it, and make the perfect angle.

5. The Alternative Close

If your customer is unsure of the main solution you are providing, offer alternatives to tailor to his or her needs. For example, if someone only needs three toothbrushes, and you sell bundles of four, get creative and give him or her three. Tailored services can work great, because everyone likes a custom order.

6. Direct Close

When you have addressed the customer’s concerns and you are confident that she knows the value of your product or service, then pose the question directly, “So, Mary, are you ready to place the order?” Use this closed-ended, yes-or-no question only if you are very confident that the answer will be affirmative.

7. Level With Me

When the customer says they will think about the offer, treat it like a careful objection. Ask if there are any concerns you can address, and if the solution seems clear, then ask for the business today.: ‘If all looks clear to you, what is holding you back? Let’s get this done today!’ Cautionary note: this is an advanced close.

8. The Pressure Close

We all operate off of deadlines,, it’s what makes us hit our goals in time. If the customer needs X-amount of widgets for a big event, then use time as a hot spot pressure: ‘If you need these today, let’s get started with the purchase order to help you keep on track with your goals.’ This is logical, and helps the customer get to what he or she needs to do in order to move forward.

9. Pros vs Cons

Showcase the pros and cons of having the product or going without. Take time to outline how the customer will benefit by having your product, and show them what they will miss out on if they do not have it. An example would be purchasing an organic drink – the customer will feel both hydrated and will have nutrients in their body.

A fresh cup of coffee never tasted better after a close, so go out and get what you want! Remember though this process that business wins are a numbers game, so use the law of averages to work in your favor. Make more calls, meet more people, and get busy. To keep your momentum going remember that each day is an opportunity to become better, bigger, faster, and stronger. Coffee’s  for closers, so the real question is, have you had your cup yet?

Cheers,

Danielle

Here’s What You Need To Know About The Power of Teams & Why You Need A Solid Team Today

Here’s What You Need To Know About The Power of Teams & Why You Need A Solid Team Today

A great team is key to any person who has been successful throughout history.  Your team can be your family, business partners, friends, and mentors. Your alliance is your team, it can be your family or the people who work with you. Like many things in life, having a team to get you all there is key to your ability to succeed. You can’t do it alone. Take for instance the ancient African proverb that still rings true today in business and in life: “It takes a village to raise a child.” Here are 5 key ways you can begin to build your alliance, if you are new to a city and are finding your way, or if you already have one and are looking to strengthen your ties with the people in your alliance who are meaningful to you.

1. Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe

When you are building your alliance, you want to make sure you check yourself to make sure you are sending out the right signals. If you keep attracting bad company, it might be a sign you need to change something within yourself. As it were, how business and eastern culture philosophy are tied together. You’ve Got to ‘know thyself’. Want to attract positive and productive people? Change your vibe. To do this, begin to change the thoughts you think into affirmations that align with who you want to be.

2. Strengthen What You Do Have

We all know people in our lives that we want to be closer to, we have people that we want to improve our relationships with. Don’t feel bad if you’ve been going through a difficult time and have previously been hard on yourself or others. You want to make sure to forgive yourself for whatever happened, and to care for yourself. If you begin to treat yourself well, then you can have the capacity to treat others well. Start to strengthen the ties you have with people that you care about. You want to make time to spend with people who love and celebrate you, let go of others who don’t. Start to love and trust your business partners, friends, and family (if you have not already). Go for coffee, go for brunch, and hey you can even go for mimosas!

3. Talk To People

This is very important, for introverts and extroverts. Your Ability to talk to people, and to to communicate with others is your key survival tool in our fast-paced, and sometimes cold, world. The more you talk to people, the more likely you are to meet people who are like you. Many of us move around a lot in our 20-somethings, and it can be hard to meet people at first. Find networking events and even go speed dating to increase the likelihood that you can meet people who really care about you. It can be challenging at first, but don’t give up. Press on because it is truly worth it.

4. Make What You Do With Your Alliance Count

You’re aiming for the next level, and your team is counting on you to help all of you get to where you are going. This is why sports and business partnerships are so important. Make sure you have common goals with the people you surround yourself with. Are you in a running group? Nice. Make a 12-mile race goal that you can all do together. Are you building your freelance practice out? Awesome. Make weekly goals to acquire new clients that you and your colleagues can provide services to. It’s all about building each other up and helping your team get to the next level.

5. Take Steps Today

To strengthen what you currently have, or to begin to build your alliance for a new chapter in your life, take out both a notebook and a planner. What you will need to do is set the intention, one of the first steps to creating your reality. When you take pen to paper and write out what you want to do and how you want your life to be, something magical happens. Write out the person you want to be, and how you want your life to look in the notebook, and then take your planner and write out actions you will take every day in order to get to where you intend to be. This is constructive goal setting, and when you have a plan it is 90% more likely to work out.

Plan to spend intentional time with your business partners and family. Make sure you build others up and that they support you. You can go so far when you are with a team, so make it count and do your best every day. You are 100% responsible for your life, your success, and the well being of your relationships. The good life is for you so give it a chance because you are worth it. It’s time to build up your team, make it stronger every day, and go forward into life with confidence.

Cheers to teamwork,
Danielle

The Art of Following Up

The Art of Following Up

Ever miss getting a call back from someone who said they would reach back out to you? This article is all about the follow up. When you reach out to professionals to request doing business with him or her, keep the ball in your court as much as you can. What I mean here is that when you send an email, leave a circle back option, and note that you will reach back out to them promptly later in the week or nearly next week. You want to make it easy for people to do business with you, and the easier you make it for people to say yes, then the faster you can move forward.

Qualify

Of course there are some slight adjustments that go into this proves. You want to make sure you are polite yet assertive, and that what you have to offer is something that a professional you are going to do business with will need or want. This strengthens your follow up. Qualify the person, this is important for time management, because every second matters.

Pace Your Follow Up

I learned this from a Sales Boot Camp I took back in November. When You touch base with a decision maker, you want to make sure to email them back or call them. I find that if the line is quiet, follow up twice a week, two days in between. Keep their mind on you, the follow up increases your chances of them calling you back. Of course, after multiple touch points and no answer, you will want to move forward to more pressing matters. Make yourself available for them if they do need anything. When someone is emailing you for urgent matters, email back right  away. For bigger deals and operations, I allow a 24 – 48 response time. The sooner you can respond the better.

Patience and Good Attitude

When waiting for your new client to email you back, you want to be patient. If after 3 days to a week you have no answer, be brave and pick up the phone. Follow up. There are some systems you can instill in your business practices to ensure your client is followed up with and cared for. Treat each person you meet with extreme politeness and respect. You never know how much a good attitude can help you out. A good attitude towards yourself and others goes a long way.

Customer Service

Bottom line is that when you follow up with your clients, it builds your reputation of being super responsive and available to meet their needs. You want to be available to serve the people that need you, so make it easy for people to reach out to you. This is great customer service. Responding to situation makes it easy for you and your client to make the next steps to move each other forward. You are essentially a team, so following up will make things move much faster.

Following-Up Can Increase Your Conversions, according to an article in Kissmetrics. Make sure to qualify your customers and pace your follow up like a professional. If you really want things to happen, they will.Make sure to have a good attitude and a positive expectation about where you want to go. Following up is an art, and a learnable skill. Many people are successful at this, and you can be too. Start today to follow up with your clients. You can do it!

A great way to digitally market and brand yourself starts with having a blog or YouTube channel you can share on social media. This is important if you are in business because people can find you and read all about your products and services. You want to keep in mind that how you express yourself will ultimately attract the right people who share most or some the core values and beliefs. Blogging is powerful, and not only is it a way to share yourself with the world, it is a great way to express yourself. Step 1. Pick a Niche.

Whether you are a financial advisor or a videographer, you want to determine what niche you want to write for. I generally recommend writing about what you are most passionate about, and if it ties to your career, even better. I write about freelancing and how much I enjoy it, and some of the principals I learn and share with others is easily relatable to other freelancers with different career fields like coding and website design. I even know a couple freelance bookkeepers. Pick your niche, and become the authority in your field.

Step 2. Your Blog Name & Getting A Domain

Blogs of all sorts are spread across the web, and the names vary from The Huffington Post to FiveThirtyEight. Be creative. Once you decide on a blog name, you will need to  purchase a domain name. I bought contently through GoDaddy.com.

Step 3: Create A Website

This step is really difficult if you are not tech savvy. I recommend hiring a freelancer off of Fiverr to build your website, and make it as basic as you can for the first initial website. Remember, when you are first starting, you just need the basics. Improve on everything as you go along. Using WordPress is a great platform to start building your website on, you can learn more about it here

Step 4: Blog!
This step is very important, and is one that you will need to repeat multiple times per week. Blogging boosts your website SEO and also keeps your mind sharp. Blogging will also provide value for people visiting your website that may eventually become your client. It is your way to make a mark on this world, so share your voice and work hard to write good articles.

Step 5: Share on Social Media

How will people find you if you are not on social media? Other than Google searches, people will need to be able to find you through one of the following channels: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, or even Twitter. earn to brand yourself, and make your content shine! Different content performs  better on one social media site over others. Test the waters, and see what works best for you.

In Life You Don’t Get What You Deserve, You Get What You Negotiate

I recently read a book on making big business deals by Lewis Schiff. It talks about the top business players, the ones that rose up from poverty or the middle class, and now make over $1,000,000 a year. They are at the top for a reason, and that’s because they more quick-witted, emotionally intelligent, and smart. Most importantly, they follow their gut. That’s what makes them the deal makers and deal breakers.

Photo Via: www.businessinsider.com, handshake, man and woman shaking hands, deal, business deal.
Photo Via: www.businessinsider.com, handshake, man and woman shaking hands, deal, business deal.

If you have ever observed people that keep getting the raw end of the deal, it’s because they didn’t ask for more. Shockingly, I read that the majority of people who are offered a starting salary don’t realize that if they ask for more, they would likely get it. Obviously, a person hiring you as a freelancer or contractor has selectively chosen you, and are willing to pay for – you! The people who make the money decisions in companies and business majority of the time leave room for a higher negotiation in pay.

Even more shocking, is that women don’t ask as much as men. That is why there is a ‘gap’ today. Don’t get me wrong, sexism still exists but is extremely minor today in comparison to the women in the earlier 19th and 20th centuries. Ladies, ask for more – you’re worth it. Settle for more.

In Business Brilliant, a survey was conducted to compare how multimillionaires making over $1,000,000+ per year negotiate in comparison with people who make less than $1,000,000 per year. The survey found that millionaires expect the other party to exploit them, and it is up to them to find spots in the initial offer and find loopholes to leverage a better offer, not only for the negotiator to benefit but for the company they run to benefit. The compared counterpart respondents just want to be ‘fair’.

It’s a dog eat dog world out there, and you’ve got to have your wits about you or people will take advantage of you in the business world. Do your absolute best to learn, earn, and repeat. This is especially true if you’re lucky enough to live in America, a country where people move here to manifest their own ‘American Dream’ because there is no China Dream, European Dream, or African Dream.

“Coffee is forge closers.” – Glen Gary Glen Ross

The second part of deal-making is your rib cage. No, not talking about the one in your body, but those around you who work symbiotically with you. Your team. If a deal goes south, and many will, then you’ve got to have you’re A-Team with you to bounce you back up.

Another study found that multimillionaires actually have an extremely large network of people they know, referring to the Strength of Weak Ties. In the upper echelons of personal business, they have a tighter inner circle of people they collaborate with to make smart decisions in business, this is in comparison with less savvy business people who talk to everyone about their plans. If you’ve got ideas worth gold, tell your inner circle, don’t tell your neighbor down the street.

Photo Via: www.wgea.gov.au, man and woman in a deal, negotiation, the standoff, genter equality, gender equality work place.
Photo Via: www.wgea.gov.au, man and woman in a deal, negotiation, the standoff, genter equality, gender equality work place.

Getting what you want is all about asking for it. If you show up, do work that no one can replace, and make your way up the Klout Score, then you’re well on your way. Doing work you’re proud of builds your confidence, and that’s why a lot of really famous and wealthy people are so magnetic. When they step up to make a deal, they’ve got a lot running under their belt, not to mention backdoors. You may want to roll up your sleeves and get to work because if you’ve got the passion you’ll enjoy these moments of tension. You learn a lot about people when they are under pressure.

When negotiating, be willing to walk away. The old adage here goes, ‘The one who loves the least, controls the most.’ Be interested in making a good deal, but never show your more than halfway interested. If the person across from the table really wants to work with you and make a deal, they will show it.

Photo Via: /www.quotesvalley.com, the-one-who-loves-the-least-controls-the-relationship
Photo Via: /www.quotesvalley.com, the-one-who-loves-the-least-controls-the-relationship

If you’re not satisfied with your lot, then the only person responsible is the one looking you back in the mirror. Settle for more. Do work that makes you confident, so when you negotiate you know you’ve got the work to back it up. If you ask for more, you can initially get more. The future belongs to those who ask – and if you get a no, which you will encounter a lot in business, then you increase your odds. Success in negotiation is a numbers game, like many other things. Some things work out, and some things don’t but hey – don’t take it personally, it’s just business 😉

How Working 70+ Hours Can Actually Save You

Do you feel stuck? Not sure where to go? Behind on your notes? The truth is, you’re not alone. The other side of the truth is that you have absolutely all the power to pull yourself out of any hole you’ve dug yourself into.

They say that inspiration strikes us in the most opportune, or in-opportune, moments. Depending on how you look at it, you may have an event in your life that makes you feel like all the doors are closed. But do you remember that old adage? As one door closes, another door opens.

You may have to get out of your comfort zone and begin to push and expand your current limitations. People are really powerful, but our minds can trick us into being lazy and complacent. Get into motion. In order to get ‘un-stuck’ you will need to take massive action. Some people go all in and may get burned out, so here is a pro-tip to help you as you become a person in motion:

  1. Create a list of all your issues on one side of paper, and on the other side make a list of solutions.
  2. Take one task at a time. Don’t even look at your other list items.
  3. Get into the habit of marking off tasks. You’ll feel more accomplished, and have the confidence to move onto the next task.
  4. Celebrate wins. Make sure you do something nice for yourself to reward your hard efforts. You are after all your own boss.
  5. Repeat.

A key factor to keep in mind is that you will need to have a lot of passion. The feeling of being stuck needs to be more painful than the feeling of making changes for the better. Get un-stuck!

When you begin, you need to know that making changes will not be easy, but they will ultimately be worth it. Making positive changes to get in motion will cost you time. Here’s how we get 70 hours, but of course if you’re feeling more ambitions, go settle for more.

Money is the necessity that makes FREEDOM possible for all people, so how do you get it? You make ways for money to flow to you. In one of my previous articles, I talk about methods on how to make money online by freelancing. When you’ve got a method in mind to allow money to flow to you, the real work begins. To make what you need to happen, you will need to put in the hours to get your processes up and running. In the book, Business Brilliant, an estimated majority of millionaires who make $1 million to $30 million work over 70 hours per week.

By getting to work, and getting in motion, you will start to produce more money. Money to pay off debt, money to pay for your child’s college, money to buy a home, and money to wine and dine with your best friends.

Growing your money will take a lot more effort, simply because money is a dame that needs to be woo’ed. More particular, you need to become really good at pleasing people. You can start in your personal life by extending extra effort to be of more value to your friends, neighbors, and peers. When you start to master that level, you can start to please people in business. Here I am referencing the Go-Giver, a must read book for anyone in business. The book references that those who give the most receive the most, especially in unexpected ways. Learn to be the best at serving people, and at pleasing them. You will get a lot further in life.

Giving requires a lot of footwork, which keeps you in motion and helps you build methods for money to flow to you. Being in motion will also require you to put in a lot of hours. Eventually, word will get out that you work your butt off, and people will want to work with you. Everyone needs a hustler. When you are a person of value, you won’t be discarded so easily.

Photo Via: http://www.lovethispic.com, Jay-Z, Hustle, Work Hard, Pay The Price.

Take the steps today to become a person in motion. Don’t be afraid to put in the hours, should they be 70+, it is your life, and every moment should be worth it to you to make it better. Get unstuck, develop a pathway for money to flow to you, and work passionately. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. Get ready to be the solution to your problems – only YOU can save yourself!

How To Use Productivity to Get Stuff Done!

As a week cap before we head into the weekend, I thought it might be awesome to share an ‘a-ha!’ moment with my readers. As a freelancer, I feel I am always busy. But the truth of the matter is that there is busy-work and actual production work. Depending on what your goals are, you can allocate your time to get done what needs to get done. Of course you should make time for working out, meal prepping, meeting up with friends, and of course, date night. If you’re building your freelance up, then you have to allocate your time and guard it. For the first time since high school (what happened in college, anyhow?), I’ve actually picked up a planner and have been using it to track what I actually get done in the week. What I found was surprising!

First, let’s dive into how you allocate your time. Just like in finance and budgeting, you have fixed costs, or in this case, fixed time. What I mean here is that you have things you need to do every day in order to get along during the day. Fixed time includes the time you spend showering, running to the ladies and gent’s room, making food, eating food, and my favorite, sleeping. The other categories can be broken down into four types: urgent vs. non-urgent and important vs. not as important.

https://waitbutwhy.com/2015/03/procrastination-matrix.html
Photo Via: waitbutwhy.com, Eisenhower-Matrix, productivity, time matrix.

The next part in knowing how to use productivity to get stuff done is to have a goal of what will move you forward the most. Is it going to meetups to find clients? Perhaps taking time to create that youtube video? Or eating popcorn on the couch while you Netflix and chill? Believe me, they are all important. You need to have chill time in order to be more productive. I’ve tried the balls-to-the-wall approach, and I just became a sleep-deprived and schizophrenic person. When I began to integrate relaxing with long periods of focused attention, I began to see results. Don’t get me wrong, there are times when I wandered or spent too much time being distracted by a hot guy, but in order to move forward you need to spend more time in the first part of the above matrix, important and urgent/not urgent. This is important if you have a big goal you want to work towards – remember those New Year resolutions? Making the sacrifices today will pay off in the future.

http://www.npr.org/sections/13.7/2016/03/07/469485186/to-make-better-predictions-don-t-stick-with-the-easy-stuff
Photo Via: www.npr.org, a woman making decisions, two roads, thinking, woman in suit making choices.

Okay, so this next part is kind of fun – using a planner. I took a week out of the month and tracked what I was actually doing. It turns out I spend way too much time doing things that were urgent and not important. To be on track with everything I had laid out for the year back in January, I needed to know where I was spending my time, and how much time I was allocating towards my goals. With tracking, I was able to see where I needed to make adjustments. If you work on your computer a lot, which most of us do at this time, then pairing your calendar with a time tracker app really helps. To achieve your goals, and get stuff done, write down in your planner how much time you can allocate to working on a particular goal.

Photo Via: barbsibbing.com, time tracker, productivity, how productive are you, track your time

Each person has different goals, and they are all important. To get closer achieving your goals, allocate more time towards them. Find out where you spend your time, and make the adjustment. It really helps to have a friend or two work with you – so don’t be shy! Allocate your time, and remember that life’s a journey –  so enjoy the ride as you get closer to bigger and better goals. You’re worth it, so be brave and go after your goals!

Cheers,

Danielle

How To Accomplish Anything You Set Your Mind To

When we set out in life, our parents tell us that we can become anything we want. Your parents are right, and the truth is that you can become anything you set your mind to. The key ingredient, other than knowing what you want, is to have a burning desire for it’s achievement. In academics, I worked very hard to achieve good grades by having all of my assignments turned in on time, and all of the assigned readings completed. Truth is that I had a breakdown when my Dad passed away, and I lost the passion.

While reflecting on my life, I began to ‘wake up’ to the fact that for the past several years I have been just going through the motions like a zombie. I hadn’t found my passion, as it had been hiding in a far corner of my mind just waiting for me to tap into it. Sometimes we have to take ourselves through the hardships we experience by the bad choices we have made in order to learn how to become better people. Sometimes those choices we made can be the most humbling of times. Hardships can get us to concentrate more, mostly because the pain of sitting in our own mess is more painful than change itself.

No person likes change because it takes us out of our comfort zone. But in order to grow as a person, and lead a more richer and fuller life, we need to take inventory and count the cost of what it will take to accomplish what it is that we set our minds to.

An old analogy comes to mind when we talk about achieving the things you so desire: When you decide succeeding is as important as breathing air, it is then that you become successful. So whatever goal you have in mind, work to organize your life in such a way that you can achieve what you set your mind to. Make sure you have the key ingredient of passion, know why you are going after what you want, and everything else becomes much more clear. Your decisions will improve when you find it. So when you do, let me know (:

How To Find Your Life’s Purpose And Make Money Doing It

Do you ever wonder why some people seem to ‘make it’ while others just seem to be stagnant? There are many factors that contribute to a person becoming successful, and achieving their goals. One of the main reasons why some people become super successful is that they follow their heart, and find something that they enjoy doing, then they engage their mind to help strategize on how to make it all work.

Many people freeze up, and watch life’s game happen while others play in the field. You might call it ‘analysis paralysis’, and believe me, we have all been guilty of it on one occasion or another.

What you have to do are these three things. Remember, sometimes mastering the basics, no matter how simplistic they may seem, is the key to your success.

Find A Template.

Try different business models in different fields. See what direction you are naturally pulled towards. Eventually, after trying different types of work, you will have a sense of what you enjoy doing. There is an old adage that states, ‘pioneering doesn’t pay’, so make sure you find something that there is a business plan template for, that allows you to add value to the market place, and get paid for it. The first couple years, you may do a lot of work that goes unpaid, or unnoticed, but keep at it. You will eventually get paid, and noticed, and the success you find will be your just reward for all the hard work you do.

Examples include Amazon drop shipping, blogging, or starting a service business.

Focus.

Focus on the work you enjoy doing, and keep at it. You may encounter moments where you fail, and fall on your back. Expect this to be something that will happen. The key here is to take inventory of why you failed, and to make sure you learn the lesson in each failure before moving on to the next level of challenges.

Persist.

When you get distracted, or feel you haven’t got any traction, that is when you need to work the hardest. Expect that your success will happen in intervals, and eventually, those successes will all add to your big success. It is most important that who you become in the process is the person you always dreamt you would be. Work, work, and work some more. This will separate you from being just average.

Some key points to remember while you trek down your path to achievement and success: find something you like, make sure you have a template to add value to the marketplace, and get paid for it (you do have to eat), focus on achieving your goal, take inventory and actually learn from the failures, and to persist, and you will have to persist hard. Success always arrives around the next bend in the road, so keep driving.

There are times in our lives that define who we are, and moments of extreme success that showcase the fruits of our hard labor. There are also moments where when it is darkest , we truly shine. Walk on, walk hard, and walk towards your goal.
